Life as an underwater photographer began for me during the days of film in 1986 as I solely captured marine life with my Nikonos V. Over the years, my subject matter transformed to mostly native freshwater fishes; Tennessee has about 300 native fish species and nearly 25 introduced species. While snorkeling or diving east Tennessee streams, I typically shoot nongame fishes but am always on the lookout for anything unusual or eye- catching. Gone are my days of film; I currently take all displayed photographs with modern technology outfitted for underwater use. At present, I am an interior designer with an architectural firm in Knoxville, Tennessee.
